AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

From James:

I believe Blu-ray owners will love this one:

http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6423.exe

*Finally* you can watch your discs the way you want to!
(Remember, AnyDVD's primary purpose isn't ripping...)

6.4.2.3 2008 05 15
- New (Blu-ray): Added option to remove annoying adverts and trailers!
- New (Blu-ray): Added option to remove User Prohibitions!
- New (Blu-ray): New automatic region code detection!
- Some minor fixes and improvements
- Updated languages

"Removing annoyances" works pretty good, although there still is some room for improvement.

This looks like an awesome update for us BD people.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

This is really nice!

Remove user prohibitions means now we can skip, fast forward trailers, fbi warning etc?

What doesn remove annoying adverts and trailers? Does anydvd removed it during ripping to hdd, or it will play directly to main menu, or to main movie?

I guess I have to rerip and reburn for testing.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

I've tested with the previously ripped blu-ray movie in my hdd (not ISO, just blu-ray structured folders/files).

Test with Enchanted and PowerDVD 7.3119a.
With AnyDVD disabled, the movie started with an advert (disney blu-ray ads) but I can skip to the main menu right away.
With AnyDVDHD enabled and "Remove annoying adverts and trailers" checked, the movie still started with disney blu-ray ads?

Does it supposed to work on Blu-ray Disc or ISO only? So if I have it as regular folders, do I need to re-rip or make an ISO to get AnyDVD skip the ads and go directly to main menu?

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

How is it supposed to work on files??? It only works on physical and virtual drives.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

Bummer! Got to re-rip and iso-ed my bd folders then...

Since I had bad experience ripping with Explorer or ISO directly from physical disc, I trusted AnyDVD built-in ripper more but AnyDVD ripper will only rip as files.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

Thanks SamuriHL for the guide.

I know how to make ISO from folders but I still want to keep the files for remux processing in case I want to burn or partially trim some scenes. And I don't like virtual drives in my htpc box.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

Well, then, I guess you'll be re-ripping.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

Thanks for the info SamuriHL.

Nice features from Slysoft.

I wish this feature also works on standalone players from original discs. The Blu-ray trailers and adverts are OK since I can see new movie trailers in their hidef glory. The prohibited user operation is really annoying.

Re: AnyDVD 6.4.2.3 Beta

Ok made another test with Hitman from the disc.

With AnyDVDHD disable the steps are:
- Interpol warning
- This view expressed bla bla
- Trailer: AVP Requiem
- Trailer: Live Free or Die Hard

With AnyDVDHD enable and "Remove annoying adverts and trailers" checked, it works, it skipped directly to the main menu.

But warning though, for this Hitman title, once you rip with Remove adverts/trailers, and burn to BD-R, there's no way you can access the trailers (AVP Requiem and LFoDH) from standalone, since there's no option in the Special Feature menu. Can somebody confirm this?
