imtoo dvd ripper aspect ratio problem Help please: I cannot get the standard divx movie profile to produce 16x9 output video. it works well with 4x3 sources but whenevber I rip a 16x9 source there are big black bands in the video output file, at top & bottom of picture. I've tried all of the zoom & aspect ratio box settings but no joy. Zoom has to stay on letter box otherwise the picture gets cropped, and changing aspect from auto to any other setting seems to make no difference. Am I doing something wrong or is the ripper software not able to create a borderless 16x9 image ? I am using ripper platinum version 4.074

Re: imtoo dvd ripper aspect ratio problem I've tested this dvd various ways - it's a letterboxed 16:9 i.e. the original does contain black borders but they are automatically moved by dvd players. If I rip with a competitors program, that does renove all of the borders but it is not capable of divx output so I'd like to be able to use yours. I also did some testing with xfiles season 5 box set - using the short chapter 2 of any title. That chapter is the standard intro used in every episode. In season's 1-4 that was a 4:3 ratio files. from season 5 onwards they switch to 16:9 but all they have done is letterboxed it. you don't see that when playing the DVD on widescreen TV because once again the DVD player automatically removes the black sections so what's needed is a way for imtoo to remove the back letterboxing borders as it rips ( as is done by magicdvd ripper and by dvdfab ) does rippper v5 do anything different to version 4 in this regard ?

Re: imtoo dvd ripper aspect ratio problem As you mention the original does contain black borders, the 16:9 output cannot move the black board automaticaly. It would be appreciate if you can wait for our profile to remove the board. Here is the difference of version 4 to version 5 DVD picture converter - rip DVD to picture Many picture and animation profiles are available for you to capture pictures from DVD movies at fixed interval, like JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP; Video editor - multiple editing functions Powerful video editing functions of Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate let you freely clip and merge video segments, crop video size, edit video effects, adjust video subtitle, and add video watermark.
