Overspeed, hypertuning/autostrategy/.. and similair in unix/os x

How is it with all those features, do they work even when the driver is used in linux/bsd/os x/solaris/.. or does it require some special drivers or applications? I guess there are non for OS X since Apple normally just put whatever drives they feel for anyway, what about the open oses?
