xDVDShrink (Linux version of DVD Shrink)
If you have Automatix for Debian based distro's, it should find and install it for you.

I can't recommend automatix but it's easy to convert to a deb if you can't use an rpm file.

Just download the rpm from here http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ease_id=505930

I'll show you how to convert to a deb if needed.

Re: DVD backup ?

You can try and install DVDShrink itself using wine. Take a look at this guide:

How to install RipIt4Me, DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter in Linux

Re: DVD backup ?

Here is a list of programs that I have running on Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 with Wine, they are not native Linux apps but IMO are the best

Ripit4Me
DVD Decrypter
DVD Rebuilder Pro
DVD Shrink
VobBlanker
FixVTS
Imgburn

And the latest to get working is DVDFab 4.0.0.8, you can check the thread out here.

Here is a link to a guide that may help
