Re: USB Boot Hard Disk

Did you enable floppy emulation in BIOS for the USB boot device?

Re: USB Boot Hard Disk

I believe I did try the floopy mode. I just updated the BIOS on my ASUS P4P800 Deluxe and will try it again. My other PC does not have the floppy option.

Re: USB Boot Hard Disk

Now working-On my ASUS based system I set the BIOS option "Emulation Type" to Hard Disk and it booted. Don't have that type of option on my other PC, but I don't really need it.

I have a 160GB Samsung USB HDD(IDE HDD with USB Casing) clonned from Win2000 Server. This HDD when connected to original machine on IDE port boots well. However when connected via USB on the same machine(from where it was clonned) it doesn't boot.

BIOS identifies USB HDD and also selects to boot from the same. I get choose operating system option and hardware profile option too. Booting starts however at the end i receive message on Blue Screen INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

Can you help me ?

I read the post on http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=114361 which describes FDD emulation as HDD. But I have not formated my USB HDD as FDD.
