Hard Drive Discuss, Serial ATA HDD Roundup at International Chat: Hardware related forum; Digit-life.com has done a Serial ATA roundup with 5 SATA hard disks. To my surprise, the new Samsung SpinPoint won the roundup in most tests, and they are very quiet. I thought Samsung hard disks were not fast, but it seems I was wrong. Check it here: http://

Euhh.... I just browsed quickly through the review and found that the WD raptor disc won almost every test (the conclusion confirms this). That's not really suprising, as it's a 10000rpm disc.

On the other hand, the Samsung seems to be good choice. Not the fastest on the planet, but fast enough for most regular users. I'll stick to my raptor though

Of course, Raptor is faster. But you can't compare the Raptor with Samsug, they are not at the same level. But the Samsung as quite a surprise to me, better than Maxtor or Seagate
