| SATA's Native Command Queuing (NCQ) Does SATA's Native Command Queuing (NCQ) actually make a difference in performance? I've used a lot of PATA and a lot of SATA drives and didn't really notice anything in real-world usage ![]()

| Re: SATA's Native Command Queuing (NCQ) NCQ is an implementation in SATA2 of a well know technique used 10+ years in SCSI drives. In real world apps theres no improvement. In server type applications when multitasking and simultaneous data access will be heavy NCQ will help to organize the flow of requests ( read /write ) between the drive controller and the SATA interface. Resume: will benefit multitasks and multithreads apps ( data intensive )
