| Sansung 40 GB HDD I had a 20 Gb HDD. I then got a Samsung 40 GB HDD in place of that. was doing fdisk when the computer restarted midway (power fluctuations). Made partitions 20, 10, 10 the last 10 gb is not getting detected. when fdisk is run again, it says 'cannot access fixed disk 1' sounds familiar to anyone. ??

| If fdisk can't find any unallocated clusters/space: Huh, maybe fdisk toasted your data if you had anything on it when it shutdown. Get a 98 boot disk, run fdisk kill all your partitions and start again. sorry! If you have Power Quest Partition Magic: Just add the extra space to the current partition With fdisk: uhhhh.....

| if your running windows you cant have a 20 10 and 10 windows will only see about 36gb of the drive, hd manufacturers use 1000kb=1mb 1000mb=1gb m$ uses 1024kb=1mb and1024mb=1gb so accourding to windows its probably a tital of about 34-37gb drive so you can only do 20 10 and 4-7 |
