| Re: Having trouble setting up slave ata hd with my sata hd, I need help anyone out there? The ATA should be master on the primary IDE. Make sure BIOS did not turn off the IDE's when the SATA was installed.

| Re: Help setting up slave ata hdd w/ my sata hdd You say you are setting this up as a storage drive, does this mean you have a primary HDD, also, do you have other HDD at the time being or will this storage drive be #2 in the PC. The reason I go into this is some HDD have specific Master/Slave settings, for example, Western Digital has an option for Stand Alone Master and Master with Slave, and setting it to Master you gotta be careful and get the right one. Of course you would need Master with Slave jumped specifically for your case.

| Re: Help setting up slave ata hdd w/ my sata hdd I figured out ...... First set the boot in the following sequence: 1. CD-ROM 2.SCSI 3.IDE 0 and you can put what ever you want next. They key is SATA is recognized as SCSI. and it must boost be4 IDE. then finally, of course, you must set jumper correctly (master/slave).... I set my DVD-burner as master and IDE HD as SLAVE. It works!!! |
