| HDD won't defragment completely I thought I saw a topic on this with another user having the same problem, but I have not found it by searching nor browsing. Anyway... When I run the Disk Defragmenter under Windows XP, the drive defragments to about 14% of the way through, then I get a window that says "some files could not be defragmented; check...for details...." I have never had this problem before. All I can say is that I did a fresh reinstall of the OS and am still restoring some of my programs, although aside from that, nothing is different. I also notice I have a small "chunk" of files that the Disk Defragmenter reports as "unmovable," although despite the same setup, I never had that before. Any ideas as to why the Disk Defragmenter isn't letting me fully defragment my C: drive?

| Re: HDD won't defragment completely that's an idea, although I tried the trial version of Raxco PerfectDisk. It moved the 'unmovable' files that I assume weren't defragmented by Windows, but I have no idea what those files are that Windows says are "unmovable."

| Re: HDD won't defragment completely What's funny is that they have never been there before. I have only seen them *after* I did the full system reinstall (this is the first time). Does that sound weird?
