Hard Drive Discuss, Hard Drive question at International Chat: Hardware related forum; I have a friend who has a problem we're trying to solve, and in order to do this I would like to eliminate the hdd as one of the problems. The problem is that the OS may be corrupted. My question is will a diagnostic tool like Maxblast4 boot

Hard Drive question

I have a friend who has a problem we're trying to solve, and in order to do this I would like to eliminate the hdd as one of the problems. The problem is that the OS may be corrupted. My question is will a diagnostic tool like Maxblast4 boot and diagnose the hdd without the operation system?

It can also wipe (format or zero fill) your hard disk, so be careful what you select. For diagnostics there's also a Maxtor PowerMax floppy. Assuming it is a Maxtor drive of course.
