Some of my PCs are turn off at night and they still manage to get the projects completed in time. Due time is usually 4 days.

The amount of WU's that I missed made me give up.

The other day I missed a WU, it was already 85%! (I turn off this PC every night) But I didn't stop it and let it continue. Fortunately it finished the job and FAH still reward full points!! I knew this when I saw "Thank you for your contribution to Folding@Home" in the log. 1760 points in 4 days is not bad at all. So don't give up!

Here's the log.

It's fixed now.

I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness.

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.

The truth can be found here http://jhtalisman.blogspot.com/

The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear. - Stephen King, intro to "The Body."

Tried one on my daughters PS3. It reported 2 days 15 hours to complete a WU. I turned it back off at that point

I have the SMP running on my laptop which has a Core Duo in it - only issue is, I only complete about one out of every three WU's I start because I shutdown the notebook and take it home every day

Heck, even an older 3.2 Ghz Pentium D will churn out 930 ppd running the SMP client, assuming it's run 24/7.

Rumor has it that Sony MAY increase the clock on the PS3 due to shrinking die size on the Cell processor. Either that, or simply use less power at the same speed. Either way is a win for PS3 folders . . .

thats what I've been waiting for, I'll be picking up a ps3 as soon as there is a die shrink and the price drops to $299...not sure how much folding it would get done though with all the schweet games coming out for it this year if only they could release a memory upgrade so folding could run in the background whilst gaming
