lol, I have been considering getting a cheap 3800x2 for the spare junk in teh closet to make a 24x7 smp rig, but I kinda blew my wad on a laptop (which is folding ATM ) and a bunch of accessories
I think I've spend almost as much on accessories as I did on the laptop

I definitely prefer my desktop, but the laptop is convenient with the wifi and all, and I got a usb mouse so I can live with teh keyboard as long as I don't have to use the %#*&@ touchpad

one benefit of all this spending is now I have a wireless network so when I can swing the $60 for an x2 I'll be able to stuff the rig anywhere in the house I want

<<<<<<<< updating sig now

Yeah .. can't beat it
Just spent $250au on 3x 108Mbps access points & a PCI 108mb/s card (for the GF) so I can bridge networks, network ye olde Xbox (the entertainment centre) and get rid of that cable strecthing between rooms from my gigabit local network (My PC's & server) and the ADSL modem

Hardcoreccomputer nut here

God's help those 5 poor bastards with wifi networks nearby .... my 108Mb/s AP's/bridges piss all over the 802.11G standard & saturate the frequency band on channel 6 - aka maximum interference with neighbours

I woldn't be surprised if you can pick up a 802.11G based 108Mb/s network 50KM's away

Admitting that you've illegally downloaded movies/songs and need help to process/burn is comparable to robbing a bank, and walking into the bank the next day holding the bags of money to deposit them into your account.
Don't be surprised if people laugh at you when you make the headlines.

I'll be gentle I promise

You have at least 24 hours to get one more in though, I'm 39% done on one, and 54% on the other, both 2653s

Re: Folding@Home

well, sending my last WU for this year, and failiing at it

i'm gonna stop WCG'ing and FAH'ing for the time being, as i'm in need for each single % of the CPU... photoshopping and InDesigning ... preparing my Portfolio as i'm leaving this HellOnEarth TrialVersion for good ... departure in a matter of days... when i get a better job, i'll get a better PC, and i'll be back in the fold

i think i'm gonna have to send this WU to debro.. again

Re: Folding@Home

Hey welcome back Chriso!

And it looks like Debro is climbing up very fast. I guess that Quad is really pushing it. Must be overclocked more than 3.2GHz. My Q6600 is 3.0 Ghz and it folds 9 mins per or around 16 hours per project.
