Re: Folding@Home

Each WU has different frame sizes and accordingly times to process those frames. One of those 500 frame GROMACS took about 30 minutes per frame, the one I'm currently doing (20000 frames) is 13-14 seconds per frame.

So effectively, all WU should be the same processing time within a tolerance of approximately +/- 30% ???

But...the last one that Arachne submitted was worth nearly as many points as all 4 of mine added together.

Re: Folding@Home

Wow, something really weird just happened. I maximised F@H, and I lost all the frames I'd done on the current WU. Starting it over now.

Well, with Debro chomping at my heels, I added another PC to the group. I might have to resort to getting a PS3. Anyone know when the client will be ready for the PS3?

My Dad's slowpoke Athlon 1GHz just turned in its first WU, haven't checked what it got next, but it better not be one that takes ages like the one I'm on now

Re: Folding@Home

A quicky calc suggests we just have to do 17813x what we've done to pull even with the leading team ... which is a bunch of overclocking nerds benching their machines ...

If we don't beat them at number crunching ... at least we beat them by lifestyle .. or at least having a life, eh?

Not yet. But it's on my to-do list

Hehe, the people I hang out with offline are definitely not into computers.
