__________________ My Current Phenomenal System I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness. Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air. The truth can be found here http://jhtalisman.blogspot.com/ The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear. - Stephen King, intro to "The Body." | |

| Re: Folding@Home I'm having OC problems now so i have to shut down and see what's up. I bumped my processor up last night and came back in from BBQ'ing today and had to pop the battery and set jumper. Put it back like it needs to be and reset my bios ................... I had just finished a WU and waiting to see if it got sent in. |

| Re: Folding@Home @headquarter84 I had the exact same problem with the Windows GUI version. I ended up with several completed units that wouldn't send and no manual way that i could see of sending them. Not much help, but i gave up on it and started using the Linux SMP client and haven't looked back since. At least the Windows console version would allow you to send the WU manually with the -send xx (unit no) or -send all (send all units in the queue). @rolling If you get a OC problem again, here is tip that should allow you to recover without pulling the battery and resetting CMOS. Pull all memory sticks except one, The PC should boot to the BIOS and allow you turn back the FSB or make any other changes. Save the BIOS then close down and refit your ram sticks.

![]() i'm tuning the % down to 60% during the hot day's hours, and back to 100% while it's dark and cool ...so, i don't really like the fact of turning the Win GUI ver. on just to throttle up, then having to shut it down, or kill the GUI task to get back to the console :*(

| Re: Folding@Home Check the advanced settings using the -config. I don't think it gives you the option to throttle the CPU use ![]() If it's any consolation, Vista & Linux have Power modules inbuilt (and activated by default) which allow you to use profiles including CPU throttling ![]()
