Re: Folding@Home

haha, you 775 guys have it easy when it comes to lapping...no pins to bend

first attempts at ocing the fx60 looked promising with 2.8ghz @ 1.4v passing 15 min of orthos with flying colors, but then when I went to shut down to bump it some more the hdds cycled and I got a bsod I don't think my crappy psu can handle it tomorrow I will try dumping my second hdd into an enclosure to take a little load off the psu, redneck solution, but hopefully it will work

Yep,
As long as you have a 19xx series ATI GPU. I think the 16xx and 13xx series also work but they are slower than most CPUs so folding on them is mute.

I think it's slower than Linux or Windows SMP.

Since you have a 4x4, why not try Windows 2000/XP/Vista SMP client console version (currently 5.91 beta). Installation FAQ (scroll down to the very bottom): http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-SMP.html

Re: Folding@Home

the best of both worlds would be one smp client and one gpu client the gpu will reserve 1 core and smp will use the other 3

Strange I left WU 2652 running when I went to work this morning and it mysteriously stopped at 70% all by itself. Lost 11 hours of folding. Guess I better call the gremlin extrerminators.

Ouch! Well, luckily you have a beefy PC and will probably catch up fairly quickly
