That's odd, I don't seem to lose work when I shut down my PC (which I do every night).

Or at least I don't think I lost any, LOL

It was a sudden shut down actually, as in my 3 year old somehow accidently hit the power button with his foot for 5 seconds.

The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear. - Stephen King, intro to "The Body."

Re: Folding@Home

I usually close F@H (I run the text version) before I shut down my PC (when I shut it down ) And to make sure I don't lose anything, I back up my F@H folder at least once a day. There is also a Prevlog.txt file it makes. I'm not on a PC that has F@H installed to check the exact file name now.

Those 600 point gromacs are the beast on my PIII 733 box

I'm so sorry my dear . Maybe fate is leading you to a better deal or PC in the near future .

I only act like I'm dying when my back acts up . I hardly ever actually get sick and most of time when I do it's cause I've drank too much .

Aww thanks ...yeah, like next week. She's promised me faithfully

I can relate to the back problem thing, I feel for ya - last night I was on MSN and the new CDF site for hours, my back felt like it was in half by bedtime

And you hardly ever get sick, eh? Wow...you sure you're a bloke?

Yep...by next week I should be folding a heck of a lot quicker (my lame attempt at getting back on topic )

Re: Folding@Home

I will have my other machine hopefully up and folding in a few weeks. Probably will hold off on a new Mobo and just stick with CPU heatsink/fan (waiting on it now, ******* UPS sent it across TN into Virginia) and memory for now.

I could get sick more often if you would come nurse me back to health .

"You're going to go through tough times. We all are. It's how you respond to them that counts. It's how you get back up. You're going to get knocked down. It's whether you stay down or whether you get back up and fight that counts." - Cancer survivor and Tennessee guard Chris Lofton.

Encourage you to get sick? Never, I'm a crap nurse anyway, haven't got the patience

Edit: hehe, I bet UPS isn't as bad as the Royal Mail. We don't call them the Royal Snail for nothing. Lucky for me, SVP use different couriers

Re: Folding@Home

I can't complain since the shipping was free but I wanted to get it before Thursday (should have gotten it Tuesday). Thing is it was shipped from Memphis (about 3 hours away) to Nashville (20 minutes away from me) Monday. Went from Nashville to Roanoke, VA? (6 hours away) and is now on it's way back. So it's not really the speed but the incompetence.

Back on topic somewhat, we need to recruit more members to our team!
