Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) What bitrates do you guys use for both the ogg and the mp3? Is it worth it to go higher than 128 with the mp3? Also, how much does the sound card matter? I have onboard 7.1 RealTek ALC850 and it seems to work fine with the few songs i have done. Would an audigy make a noticable difference? Also, is there a quality loss between WMA to MP3 compared to WMA to OGG to MP3 in tunebite?

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) I have no idea how much difference in quality... WMA to MP3 results in less exact time of the song ( +- 15 seconds rather than +-2 seconds ). I use 192 bitrate output on the .ogg then encode to 128 bitrate with mp3.

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) xfuzion maybe i'll try that. you said to record at a lower volume and then use itunes to up the volume, but i'm still not sure on how to do this. guess for right now, i'll lower the volume in tunebite and change it to 192 bitrate. this only seems to happen with wav files.

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) I decided to try tunebite and am currently just using the free 30 second trial version so I have no technical support and remembered this forum has never failed me so here goes: Tunebite performs its function perfectly with the exception of after its done I cant listen to ANY music in windows media player, not the copy, not the origional, not a seperate file. The sound card works correctly outside windows media player. Also, i dont know if this information is of any use but windows media player plays the file at 4x which could be why there is no sound. Therefore i turned the audio speed back down to 1x in tunebite and closed the program. Then the music played at noral speed with no sound. Thanks guys ![]()

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) I just used Tunebite to convert a song to see what you might be referring to. It converted just fine and is currently playing via Yahoo Music Engine. I used tunebite version 2.0.1.4 . . . what is the latest version anyway?

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) ok so i had the same problem with tunebite on a previous version. i wound up uninstalling it and it made the wm player work again. not sure what is happening though. then the new version came out, i bought it, and all worked fine...until tonight. the fast silent treatment happened again when i played any file in wmp. if i tried to play any file it just played in 4x speed with no sound. if i turn the speed down in tunebite the speed turns down in wm player but no sound. hmm. Sooo, I uninstalled tunebite and VOILA! wmp works fine again. ![]()

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) One other thing you might check is what device is being used for audio playback. If you have more than one option you might select a different one and see if that works. I know that sometimes when you install something like Replay Music or Replay Radio that the playback device gets changed to something those two programs use to record audio. It happened to me and I had to change the playback device to my default for YME or WMP to work. So I take it I might not want to upgrade to the latest tunebite until this is worked out? Or is this not that common of a problem?

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) I tried changing the audio playback device with no success. And you may or may not be able to download tunebite.. althought two of us have this problem I dont believe it is THAT common. Tunebite is currently working, when its done ill uninstall it and see if wmp works again. Thanks for the help guys...

Re: Tunebite, using it perfectly ( no cut offs, perfect duration ) I tried both NoteBurner(http://www.noteburner.com) and TuneBite(http://www.tunebite.com). These two software can convert WMA or even protected itunes music (M4P) to MP3. They worked perfectly on my computer. The only difference between TuneBite and NoteBurner is that TuneBite uses recording technique while NoteBurner burns music onto a virtual CD-R. I cannot tell any difference in terms of the music quality. But I would agree that NoteBurner is faster and more reliable than TuneBite. I recommend NoteBurner.
