Hello,

Please help before i throw the discs or the printer in the bin

I am just starting to use these discs now my batch of verbatims have almost run out. Using a Primera bravo 2 with surething software, and cannot get them to print without a bloom fading all the colour (its like looking through light fog at the picture).

The latest drivers and firmware are installed but i cannot get rid of this bloom. if i put the disc under the tap it goes away and the real colour shines through but comes back as the water dries.

For those of you familiar with the bravo i have set the saturation right down to 0 because i thought it may be an ink problem, i have been refilling my cartridges with burton ink and noticed no differences back to back with primera cartridges using the verbatims. but have no original cartridges to try right now.

I spoke to Bannerbridge (primera specialist) and they dont know what is wrong

I've seen a similar problem before on a Canon machine running SureThing.
Switching to Acoustica solved the problem.
Not sure if Acoustica interfaces with Primera...

Most likely is an ink incompatibility issue. I'd say it needs more ink, not less. And just to clarify, are you certain that these are genuine TY discs?

I have had no problem printing onto 1500 normal matt surface (ritek & verbatim) discs so dont see why this should be a problem??

I am as sure as i can be that these are original discs they came sealed in the fancy case that TY use with their info disc (paper) inside.

Do they have Made In Japan (MIJ) on the label?

Nothing about made in japan on the disc, where do you mean exactly?? there is nothing mentioning watershield on the case on printed info inside the case either??
