Printed label sticky

Hello,

I've printed a couple of day's ago my first dvd label (not those paper labels but the dvd's that are already printable). But now the my printed dvd's get stuck in the dvd player. When i tested this the label was just printed. Now i have no problems but i don't want that somebody else who wil get te dvd i printed/burned gets stuck in his/her dvd player... Does anyone have any tips for printing the next time? maybe less inkt.. lighter inkt (the dark sides are more sticky).

Edit:
P.S. The printed labels not sticky anymore but more sticky than nonlabeld

Edit2: I print with an Canon IP4200 and the dvd's I use are mediaranger (MCC03RG20)

'Mediaranger' ?

Never heard of them. Probably a fake MCC MID.
I guess the problem is just the media. Sounds like cheap, lower grade Media.
Try some better.

Re: Printed label sticky

Agreed there. If you're gonna buy printable discs, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden would be my choice (expecially the new glossy ones ).

Re: Printed label sticky

If I'm reading this right, you printed directly onto the DVD, and then put it into the DVD player before it had dried properly? That might be why it got stuck.

I'd recommend printing with less ink in the future - the surface of CDs are very smooth and don't absorb as much ink as paper does, so you will need less. I'm not sure that the Canon IP 4200 is recommended for CD printing, so this may explain why it didn't adjust ink levels automatically for the CD surface. Putting too much ink on will also lead to problems with rub and image smear.

Also - leave more time for CDs to dry before doing anything with them - the ink in IP4200 has 4 dye based and 1 black pigment based and it sounds like you are having drying rate differences due to the black pigment ink.
