Yes, I also did as Zevia posted and also noticed that Nero was very slow to start, I also returned the setting to automatic.

Does anybody know how to completely uninstall LightScribe.

Uninstalled Nero (OEM) that LS came with after some testing. Used Nero CleanTools, but LS folder and content is still there (Program-->Shared Files) untouched.
Can't find any unistaller and LS is not listed in add-remove-programs.

Any help appreciated.

Route I take is right click my computer, then click manage, double click services & applications, double click services finally double click application required & set.

To uninstall lightscribe go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Lightscribe and right click on LS_HSI.msi. The context menu will come up and show the uninstall option. It is prefferable to turn off the Lightscribe service prior to uninstalling but not always 100 percent necessary.

Note, I installed from Nero OEM that came with my burner and can't recall I've ever seen that file.
Any other ideas?

pinto2, maybe you'll have to goto the Nero site. Download & install LS_HSI.exe. To enable you to uninstall.

I have not used the Nero LS driver. The generic LS driver works fine with Nero, however I preffer Sure Thing. I would think that Nero would have to have its own msi file for LS. Look in the Nero folders for their driver files and try right clicking on it. Services are usually uninstalled in this manner.

Found LS_HSI.msi on my Nero CD. Copyed file to LightScribe folder. Enabled LS in Services, restarted compu and executed as closeupone suggested.
Uninstaller starts but in next window it tells me no LS software is installed!
Maybe I'll have to reinstall everything and then start with uninstall LS first...?

I believe that because pinto2 has used Nero removal tool, he no longer has this file. In order to get it. A dl/reinstall of LS_HSI.exe will replace the file enabling the uninstall as put forward by closeupone to commence.

If the msi file is not of the same version as the LS installed on your PC, it may not recognize it. Try installing the latest version from the LS website. You should be able to install it over your current LS with no problem. You should then be able to uninstall it.

Downloaded LS_HSI.exe, executed and got my files in LightScribe folder updated to version 1.4.67.1, but still no luck.

Same error messages as before no matter what I choose repair/uninstall..."no LS software installed".

And this. Note, LS Services are running and set to "automatic".

It's the devils work. Or it is very possible it is a registry issue. There have been a number of similar issues that have been corrected by a registry fix.

LOL.Time to reformat Windoze. J/K What about going back to the restore point where you installed it then remove the LS app and then undo the restore?

Stoped and inaktivated LS crap services. Removed and erased the LightScribe folder and cleaned registry. Finally got reed of that crap app.
Without a working uninstaller, I'm done with it.

System restore is not a option here because I'm on nLite XP... .
If worse gets to worse I always have my Ghost backup to lean on.

I updated Lightscribe software it is acknowleged by Nero 6.6.1.4. It even works a littlr better, I got a really good image.
