Labelflash not working w/ Optiarc 7543!

Hello,
I have now the Optiarc 7543 drive and the Labelflash FuJi Disks. I can write on the DATA side but when trying to write on the Label Side (turn the disk) then the Labelflash original prog. crashed and Nero 7 just disappears!

And this is ALWAYS the case.

In Nero, either Buring Rom or direct Label Maker, as soon as I have to put in the Disk with the Label Side, Nero disappears. Just closes and is gone!

I tried now the original labelflash software from their website and when prompted to turn the disk (after its back in!) the program crashes.

So basically I cannot write to the Label Side. And I tried 7 different FuJi Labelflash Disks so far. Some with data on it, some empty! All the same!

Help!

Re: Labelflash not working w/ Optiarc 7543!

I also have a new Optiarc AD-7543A and have the same problem .... I can write DATA no problem, but if I try to burn labelflash labels the drive fails to see the disc and reports drive empty ..... Nero etc then crashes!

I have tried:

Nero Premium Burn & Label (7.10.1.2)
Cyberlinks Label Print
Labelflashâ„¢ Index Maker Version 1.2.0E

..... all with the same outcome! Not a single label even started to date

Has anyone made this drive work? ...... How did you do it?

HELP

Just seen this thread ........ we are not alone! http://club.cdfreaks.com/f123/nec-ad...07/index3.html

Re: Labelflash not working w/ Optiarc 7543!

Which Labelflash discs, DVD-R or DVD+R?

I would ask the seller in the first place.

Re: Labelflash not working w/ Optiarc 7543!

OK ........... so I can get Labelflash +R's as well ........... but how does that help the problem I have with the labelflash side of the disc not being seen by the drive?

Acording to the information I have, the AD-7543A should write labelflash labels on DVD-R's ?????

Nero would detect a LabelFlash drive but not allow me to burn, by not detecting the media etc. I STUMBLED on a solution - yes, it was a complete accident - while thinking that maybe upgrading my firmware from 1.00 to 1.02 would help. I know why one person here said that downgrading back to 1.01 worked, while someone else said that going to 1.02 worked Ok, basically, I went and got binflash (32bit GUI) to flash the 1.02, and wanted to backup my firmware first (as is a good idea). I told it to dump my current firmware. now, whatever mode the drive goes into to access its flash, it disappears from My Computer etc, right? So it completed the dump, and of course Windows makes the drive visible again. but something about how, after the dump, the drive light started flashing (I had the LableFlash disc in already), it made me suspicious. I opened Nero again, and voila! It now fully recognised my drive and allowed the burn to tattoo the disc! So, the solution? Download binflash and just do a dump (backup) of your current firmware first! It only takes 2 minutes. My attempt at an explanation (I am a programmer, not a hardware guy, but I think I figured it). I think that it is to do with the drive mode. When the drive enters FLASH mode to dump the firmware, I think when it exits FLASH mode, it re-enters Windows in another mode, or in an initialised state. Normally my drive runs in UDMA mode, but I believe that the drive enters PIO mode to dump / flash. So maybe, under the nForce motherboards, the LabelFlash function isn't passed properly in UDMA, but is in PIO?"
WOW !

It works - I had given up !

I tried it with Nero 8 and my 7543A and it worked with Liggy's and Dee's modified NEC and Optiarc firmwares!

Great find WELL DONE & thanks !
