I'm looking for a good quality refillable and CIS system and high quality ink to print onto DVDs and CDs, can anyone point me into the right direction?
I have been in the ink business for 11 years. I have an excellent American made perfect match ink. However good refillable cartridges have almost driven me crazy. I have 2 340's and a rx500 sitting on my work table right now. I finally found some great cartridges at the ink show in Las vegas last year. They are spongeless and they are clear. They hold about 20 ml of ink in each cartridge compaired to about 9ml in the oem cartridges. They worked great in the 220, 300 320 and the rx series. I printed out about 50 beautiful 81/2x11 full bleed prints. The cartridges were about 3/4 empty so I took them out and refilled them. When I put them back in, all 6 cartridges came up "no ink cartridges. I am looking on the net for a reset procedure. There is something different about the r340. I am sure I can swap chips and install original chips on the cartridges. However, these cartridges come with ARC chips. Therefore, the chip will shut down after 7 or 8 ml and I will have to reset the chip manually even though there is 2/3 of the ink left in the cartridge. I don't know what is going on. Something killed the chip when I took it out and refilled it. I think it put some information in the chip because I put the same cartridges in another 340 and the same message came up.

Re: Epson R340 Refillables and CIS Systems

By the way. I have stayed completely away from cis system. I saw them when they first making them and selling them at computer shows. Now there are a thousand imported Chinese systems. I have other friends around the country in the ink business. Every single one of them says that cis systems are a pain in the B.

Re: Epson R340 Refillables and CIS Systems

I just received my CIS unit for my Epson 340. I do lots of video production and I really like the 340. Ink cartridges are expensive, so I decided to give the CIS a try. I got it on Ebay through inkexpress4u. It arrived well packaged and quickly via Priority Mail.

Unfortunately, it is not working. I am very disappointed. We followed the instructions. They are written very poorly in English, but the photos were excellent. Every time we try a test, the printer's screen displays: "X Error No Ink cartridges
Install Ink Cartridges T04801 T04802 T04803 T04804 T04805 T04806"

I have emailed inkexpress4u, but not received a reply yet. Have any of you had this problem? Do you have any suggestions? I tried removing and installing the CIS - same error. Then I replaced it with my old Epson cartridges - works fine. Put the CIS back in - got the error again. The CIS is seated properly in the printer bay, I followed all the directions. THe chips are clean. OH, I am frustrated.

It looks like such a great Idea, I just hope I can get it to work for me! Thanks for any suggestions.

Yahoo! I got it to work by pressing really hard when I installed the cartridge unit.
