Hi all,

I bought an Epson R230 just past week. This is the first time i bought a printer in my life. The normal paper print quality is decent (can't say very good since i've seen no other printers' quality to compare with) .. but yesterday i tried to print directly on my white surface DVD .. and the print quality is HORRIBLE

I tried to print Tales of the Abyss custom cd print made by myself (you can get it here: http://www.cdcovers.cc/view/302873/c...ss-ntsc-custom)

I'm using this unknown DVD, don't know which company coz i bought them loose, but the seller told me its some good Taiwan brand's product. All i can read on the DVD (near center hub) is: MXM 8x.

Now when i print on it the CD cover i made, the quality is really really bad. Morever, i printed on it last night (more than 12hrs before) and the ink is still wet.

I checked the nozzle and the test came out fine.

Then i tried to print again (wasted my 2nd DVD ) and the result was still same as above.

What is the problem? can anyone please help me?

Who else use r230 here? can anyone post the pictures of their cd print quality for me? please?

Do i have any problem within the printer? (its just 7days old at my place, could this be a defective piece?)

Looks like you are using discs that are not inkjet printable. They are probably intended to be thermal printable only. I'd also suggest that you find a new place to buy discs.

Ditto I have used non inkjet printables before and received same results.

I'm kinda relieved now even though i know that i wasted my money in buying these 25 DVDs.

So i hope i dint harm my printer by using this DVD ?

No there shouldn't be any damage. Just get the correct blanks and go from there. I use Tayio Yuden printables.

I've been fooled for the first and last time.

Won't harn the printer, but if you put such a disc into a drive, you get ink all over the inside of the drive. Does make some interesting patterns on the disc though.

coz recently ive got mine also, in my case before i format my pc i can get very good quality printing, but now after i formatted my pc, i have similar printing quality problem like yours.
