CD & DVD Printing and Labeling Discuss, Creating A Printable Surface on DVD/CD? at International Chat: Hardware related forum; If someone was fortunate enough to get a stack of non printable plain surfaced dvd or cd. My Question Is there a way to treat the surface with a spray on formulation that will leave the disc printable? I had thought of vehicle bodywork spray on primer? Thanks in advance

Creating A Printable Surface on DVD/CD?

If someone was fortunate enough to get a stack of non printable plain surfaced dvd or cd.


My Question

Is there a way to treat the surface with a spray on formulation that will leave the disc printable?

I had thought of vehicle bodywork spray on primer?

Someone gave me once a cd-r which had a paper pasted on top of it. I don't have a cd printer so I don't know if it works.

the paper label would be a quick solution but I never had any dvd's that played properly when a paper lable was applied to them, so its not and option, thats why i am looking for a D.I.Y. spray on solution. Thanks for your input.

Inkjet coating is water-based, and must absorb the ink without bleeding and be smudge-proof. There's no paint that will accomplish this.
