This s/ware came with my Canon printer. I'm using XP Home.
The program just won't start, no error messages. The best it's ever done was to stay ope for a few seconds and the close itself.
Has anybody else had this problem?
How do I even start to work out what's preventing it from running?

Here's what I would do...
Go into Add/Remove Programs and delete the copy that you have now.
Then D/L and install from here :
http://www.canon.com.au/products/pri...0_drivers.aspx

Click on Drivers and Support, them navigate to Software. There you will see several versions of CDLabel Print.
Choose the version of CDLabel Print that applies to your OS.

I have tried that. No luck. It appears that the software goes looking for a printer when it starts. Perhaps it's confused because I have 2 printers connected. The older Epson on the parallel port and the newer Canon on USB. The Canon is set as the default printer.

The behavior that you describe is how Windows can act when the wrong version is installed. Verify that.
Have you tried doing a search for any remnants of the original app and deleting (to Recycle Bin for now) ?

You could try refreshing your printer driver printer driver and then see if CDLP will launch.

When I tried installing the downloaded file, you wouldn't believe it but a window popped up to tell me I had a newer version installed.
Apart from that I found the problem, PDF995. This sits in the 'Printers' window. I uninstalled it and CS-Labelprint works fine.
I can see why. CD-Labelprint is made to work with only the Canon printers. When you select Print, you have only one choice, the Canon printer.

I waiting for a reply from the PDF995 people. I really want to use that program.

I had started to type "Try launching CDLP in Safe Mode"....
For future reference, how exactly did you discover the conflict ?

Like I said, great minds think alike. We're a coupla legends. And modest too.
I tried running it in safemode and got an error message about the lack of a printer or something like that. So I knew that the first thing it did was go looking for a printer.
In the Printers folder I have listed Canon, Epson, WinFax and did have PDF995.
Uninstalling PDF995 seemed a lot easier than deleting Epson printer drivers, I am not sure I know where i keep my Epson original.
