CD/DVD Printing problem whith Canon IP6600D

Hi all.
This is my first post and I really hope that you can help me.
I have a Canon IP6600 and I have problem to print CD/DVD. I make my cocers in CD-labelprint and when I hit the "print" button the tray (C) wont go the whole way in with the result that 1/3 of the CD:s surface is written on, and the rest is printed on the tray. The funny thing is that each time I adjust the printerhead (automatically or manually) the CD/DVD printing works perfect (just one time).

Please help me, any suggestions?
I have OS Windows XP
I have tried to install the printer drivers again and again....
Kind regards
Mike

Re: CD/DVD Printing problem whith Canon IP6600D

Is this an original Canon tray, and was the printer sold outside the USA?

Have you contacted Canon support?

Sounds like there's an issue with the way the tray is being fed. Clean ALL the foil reflective squares and try again. Is the tray intact? No chips or cracks?

Is the correct "CD tray" showing in the printer properties? Under "page setup", when you go to print, it should show "CDR tray B" or whatever tray that model uses. It should not show anything else.

Hi.
Thanks for your quick answer.
Yes I have contcted Canon support and they have tested the printer with no problem at all.
I have cleaned the foil a couple of times and the tray is intact.
The tray is called tray C and came with the printer. I live in Sweden so this is the european version (I hope).
Under "page setup" it's showing "CDR tray C".
A wonder if it´s a computer issue cause everytime I adjust the printerhead it's works.
Regards
Mike

I doubt a software issue, as the printer itself aligns the tray for printing. Is the printer under warranty?

Just to be sure, you are waiting for the software to ask for the tray before inserting the tray?

Yeah the printer is under warranty and I will go back to where I bought it. I always wait for the software to ask for the tray. I think it's a hardware issue, perhaps something wrong with the tray

If they have the capability to test it where you bought it, maybe they can try it on a different PC. But it sounds like it needs to be replaced.

Don't open the tray door until prompted...
My older Canon doesn't care whether the door is opened early or not, but some of the newer models complain if you open the door early.

Worth a shot.
