Re: CD Freaks presents: The Traxdata EZ Drive USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Twister 512MB review

H3rB3i, thanks for the review!

I'm amazed at the slow access time for this device in the review. An access time of more than 29ms is slower than most harddrives! Is this the read or the write access time?

I tested the read access time of my five USB Flash Drives using HD Tach (Free), and the slowest one was 1.0ms:
0.5ms Attaché PNY 128MB
0.8ms Micro Memory 512MB (these three drives are actually different)
0.9ms Micro Memory 512MB (these three drives are actually different)
0.9ms Micro Memory 512MB (these three drives are actually different)
1.0ms Kingston DataTraveler II Plus 2GB
Your review of the Traxdata EZ Drive Pro 1GB showed similarly high access times.

Are you perhaps measuring the write access time while I'm measuring the read access time?

BTW I like the "Dragon Style" of this drive!

Nice review there, Herbinator. Thanks for the information. Flash drives are going to become more interesting with Microsoft Vistas "Ready Boost" for USB flash memory, in order to enhance PC speeds.
