Win98SE of Win2000 - Club CDFreaks

Ik heb hier nog een Pentium MMX, 200 MHz staan met 160 MB RAM. Wat dan de beste keuze qua os wanneer ik Win98SE en Win2000 als mogelijkheden geef? Het is geen pc voor in een netwerk. Wordt naast wat sufen via 56K-modem gebruikt voor word en wat muziek.

Win2k is te zwaar...ik zou voor 98SE gaan

Met die hoeveelheid RAM zou ik toch durven Windows 2000 installeren. Als het te traag is, kun je nog altijd switchen.

Idd... het is op zich vrij zwaar voor de hardware die je hebt, maar ik heb Win2k al op een minder systeem acceptabel aan het draaien gehad. Het gaat er zich maar net om hoe goed je harde schijf het bij kan houden (een snelle harde schijf kan snel swappen, hetgeen je prestaties nogal ten goede komt), wat voor applicaties je gaat draaien etc etc. Proberen kost niets; in een avondje heb je een volledig bijgewerkte 2k aan het draaien, dus veel te verliezen heb je niet!

Als je er niet op gamed Windows 2000 pakken. Bijna geen downtime.

Ik zou ook zeggen idd Win 2000 Teneinde ook het feit dat Win 98 +/- 24000 fouten bevatte en dat de SE versie die allemaal zowat oplostte maar er 35000 nieuwe voor in de plaats bracht
