| Wrong aspect ratio shown in vob.passthrough If you select DVD to Mobile-Generic-vob.passthrough, the frame resolution of the DVD will always be shown as one of: 720x576, Aspect Ratio 1.25 (PAL) or 720x480, Aspect Ratio 1.5 (NTSC) Neither of these are true: They don't take into account that all DVD modes (including 4:3) use more or less anamorphic (non-square) pixels, so the real frame aspect ratio seen needs to take this into accont. It is Frame Width x Pixel width: Frame height x Pixel height. Ideally, a new column showing pixel aspect ratio should be added to the resolutions table. This would also come in handle if we get anamorphic Xvid/H.264 encoding. |
