Will DVDFab Decrypter save me from my Matshita drive?

Hi, all. I used to have a Toshiba laptop which worked beautifully with DVD Region+CSS Free Lite, but when it died last February I made the mistake of purchasing a new Toshiba with a Matshita DVD-RAM drive, without doing my research first.

I have several DVDs from other regions which I used to watch on my old laptop(I live in the USA, by the way). Right now I'm trying to use the freebie DVD decrypter for the Region 4 DVD of The Plague Dogs, and it's taking forever(it's at 0.34% right now, and has been going for almost an hour). It scanned over the disc fine, and when I started copying it to my hard drive it kept giving me errors. I clicked "Ignore All", and decided to proceed anyway. Is doing this a lost cause, or should I allow the program to keep running? I know it is supposed to remove DVD Regions, so I presume that once it has been copied, I will be able to watch it.

Argh, stupid Matshita drive. I've been at war with it ever since I got my new laptop. Beautiful, big, wide screen, and I can't even watch DVDs from other regions anymore!

Re: Will DVDFab Decrypter save me from my Matshita drive?

I have three suggestions:

1. Check if there is rpc1 firmware for your drive at http://www.rpc1.org, after updating firmware, you can watch the DVD with DVD Region+CSS Free.

2. Create backup of your DVDs on another PC, and watch it on your laptop. You can try our DVD copy software "DVDFab Platinum" at http://www.dvdfab.com

3. Get a USB or FIREWARE connected external DVD drive to watch the DVD.
