Why all the burn problems

I can't figure it out. Can someone read these Nero logs and suggest anything that might get it to work? I am using DVDFab with Nero enabled. My two burners are Emprex branded with Sony and a Lite-on. Just let me know any info you need. I need to get this working

Re: Why all the burn problems

DMA is off for your LiteOn drive according to the log. Also you're overspeeding that 8x YUDEN000 T02 to 16x.

What do they burn like at the rated 8x?

"Error reading data" looks ominous though - have you defragged your hard drive lately or run any diagnostic tests?

Just a few things which may or may not be related.

Re: Why all the burn problems

Arachne
thanks for the reply. I burn at x8 for the longest time on my Lite-on. When i use my Sony, it only burns at x16 even if i pick x8. I would much reather burn at x8, i get much better burns. Any suggestions on how to slow it down? I am using TY x8 media. As for the DMA, tried everything to get it back on, do you have any suggestions? And i have defragged it recently but i will try again tonight and go from there..

Sorry for your trouble, but unfortunately, we don't know what "everything" entails.

Please click on the link in my sig, More DMA Help + Reset DMA link.
"1. Click here", contains a VBS Script file. Please run this file.
Additionally, the article "The stuttering DVD drive or the lame hard disk" is well worth the time it takes to read..

If this doesn't work, uninstall your ODDs from device manager and reboot. XP will reinstall them and assign appropriate drivers. If still no go, uninstall again, power off, unplug your ODDs, power up then power down again, now replug your drives and power up.

You may have done some or all of this, but post back and we'll go form there...

Hope this helps.

have you tried to burn with VSO? seems that nero is having a problem reading the dvdfab output. can you burn the video with imgburn? will the video play with media player software? what other dvd programs do you have installed? what other programs running in the background?
