| Re: what NEXT was that the complete disc backup of CD2? If only main move backup, something still may be amiss. That title backed up fine for me, main movie only, with 2.9.7.7. Also you have probably down this road, but are all your settings correct in Fab, disc size not set to large, 4300 good, ect. Also, know you have probably heard, but questionable blank media contributes to a lot of burn issues..... |

| Re: what NEXT Do not feel lost on error 2016...... I have been using DVDFAB Platinum (Gold) for the past year ? Anyway, my last version was 2.9.7.7 with core 2975 and it worked great, no problems. I just installed the later version, 2.9.8.1..... no luck. I uninstalled all and also tried the later 2.9.8.2/Beta 2 and I have the same problem with burning.... error code 2016. I have tried different manufs on the DVD's and also tried using a 8.5GB, same problem... error 2016... will not burn no matter what i do..... Any thoughts from anyone else.... I am glad I saved my original 2.9.7.7 (backed up).... if no luck, will probably go back to the prior version......... I guess i should have left well enough alone... if it works and is not broke..... do not fix it. ![]() NH |

| Re: what NEXT Quote:
I had a lady contact me who was having the same problem and knew very little about computers. She sent a burn log and we figured it out. She updated her firmware, and it worked. I learned from helping her that NEC burners in Dell computers have to be updated from the Dell site. I don't know a lot about burn logs, but searching error numbers on google helps. Not Fab numbers, but numbers before burner ejects the DVD which are Windows numbers. Mack

| Re: what NEXT I updated my NEC3550A with Dees 1Y6 from Liggy and Dee's site no problem, I use great media (Taiyo Yuden 8x) and free version of DVDFabDecrypter, newest version and DVDShrink and have not had one problem with old or brand new releases. I have been using the free versions since Feb. only one coaster and that was my error and not the programs. Last edited by theboltz; 03-08-2006 at 02:15. |

| Re: what NEXT Regarding my earlier post.... Problem resolved ! I finally got the latest updated version of DVDFab Platinum working correctly (sofar). I kept getting writing errors / codes after I download my update from a working earlier DVDFab Platinum version. What i discovered recently is that the manuf. of my DVD Burner (Emprex) had 2 revisions (updates) to the chipset since my purchase. For what ever reason, the earlier version of DVDFab Platinum was compatiable with the earlier version of firmware on my Emprex DVD burner, but when i upgraded it did not work. I have since upgraded the firmware to my Emprex 16x DVD Double Layer Burner and have discovered that the new update from DVDFab Platinum is now working correctly. Bottom line, make sure you have the latest updates / firmware from the manuf. for your DVD burner before upgrading......... |

| Re: what NEXT FW is important because not only for SW compatibility, but media compatibility. Media does change MID from time to time so drive companies have to update FW. Mack
