| using dvdfab platinum hello everyone! this is my first post here. i have just downloaded dvdfab platinum. i don't have a clue how to use this software and am a little new at creating and burning dvds. what i would like to do is this i have some movies that i downloaded and they take up a lot of my hard drive space i have already burned these movies to a dvd disk and now i would like to free up some hdd space. what do i need as far as hardware and what is the instructions for copying these movies to a blank disk when i want to make more copies using dvdfab platinum? do i uplaod the movie from my dvd disk then burn copies or do i have to put a disk in my dvd rom and the other in my dvdburner or whta do i do and is this a good way to do what i want? i apreciate any help i can get on this matter. i mght be asking some dumb questions but i am a quick learner. |

| Re: using dvdfab platinum Hello dwnldrnewbie and welcome to the Fab forum. First off if I understand you correctly, you wish to delete some of the movies that you have stored on your hard drive. You can right click on the movies name on the file where the movie is stored and click delete. After you delete all the movies that you wish you may want to check and or dump your recycle bin in case some of the movies were small enough to get caught in there. After the movie cleanup you may also need to defragment your HDD. After that post back and we'll work out any of your other concerns.

| Re: using dvdfab platinum hey and thanks for the welcome. i have no problem deleting what i would like to do is make copies of the movies to dvd witch i also have no problem doing. what i wanted to know is instead of bying an ext hardrive is using my dvds to store my movies and then if i would like to make another copy of any one or all of them i could just use dvdfab platinum to perform yhe task. and what would be the procedure? do i just stick a blank dvd in my burner and then stick my movie in my dvd rom and then burn. |

| Re: using dvdfab platinum Basically, I would say yes. Use the dvd-rom as your source and your burner as the target. The movie will first be riped to a temp fab folder in step one and then burned to your blank disc in step two. |

| Re: using dvdfab platinum Also, if you haven't already read the Read First sticky on the main page of the Fab forum you may find it to be of help.... It is the one titled Features Summary for Fab Platinum + Merge written by my good friend signals. Check out post #2 of that thread and see if it helps.

| Re: using dvdfab platinum sorry i took so long to replay. i think i know what to do now though. to answer your questions #1 i don't own these particular disk movies that i am talking about. #2yes i have downloaded some movies from the net. #3these files i converted to dvd format using nero. what i want to do is have a nice library of movies to have for my self. but occasionally i would like to make a copy of my movie in case one of my kids or something like that.i don't want to give them my only copy, i may never see that dvd again lol. the files are like 4 gig per movie and i only have a 80 gig hd. also the copies i make should be of good quality correct? thanks |
