Unknown error

I'm trying to backup a UK disc but I keep getting an unkown error. I've tried with some of the 4 betas and the latest 4.0.1.2 but I get the same result:

11:58:24: Analyzing of DVD started
11:58:50: Analyzing of DVD completed successfully
11:58:50: Copy process started
12:19:58: Task_1 failed! Error=400(42 0 0 1 0 1)
12:19:59: Process failed!

Any ideas? Pathplayer is set to always on so that I can remove warnings etc.

Hi rendez2k,

Please try to disable PathPlayer to see the result.

Re: Unknown error

It worked fine with Pathplayer off - obviously though I can't get rid of the warning screens through now!

Re: Unknown error

Just the intros for the companies and the usual copy warnings. Doesn't need to go but just makes a tidier backup.

OK, I understand, you mean the do not copy warning screen. Are you using Full Disc mode? If so, use Main Movie mode then select only the other stuff you want to include with the main movie and leave out the warning screen? I'm new at this stuff, but that's how I do it. If it's part of the main movie then you'd have to past it through another program that has a trimmer feature. Where you can set the beginning and end of the movie with margin arrows.

Re: Unknown error

Main movie won't afford you much in the way of editing,
particularly if you wish to choose more than one titleset.
It will choose main movie and that's it.
Since you're using platinum, Customize mode will give you much more in terms of editing your disc. Once opened, it will populate the contents on the left. You can also click on Advanced Title Settings.

Click on the tutorial for screenshots and the guide...the "?" icon upper right of the application...

Hope this helps.

Re: Unknown error

Thanks guys. I understand the customize feature but my point here is that PathPlayer is clearly broken with this particular disc. To be honest, I was just doing a test backup to try the new features out and thought I'd best report the issue!

Re: Unknown error

I've found that this sort of behavior with PP isn't uncommon at all, and being a new technology is certainly part of it.
Typically, I leave PP disabled unless Fab stumbles with new copy protection.
I tried it a few times to check out new features, but now I'm back to having it disabled most of the time.

I mentioned customize because of your statement,
"obviously though I can't get rid of the warning screens through now!"
You should still be able to get rid of the warning screens, although sometimes on older flicks this is a problem.
My bad, I guess you already knew that.

Re: Unknown error

Hi rendez2k,

DVDFab should work when PathPlayer is enabled.

Please send me the IFO files so that I can check it.
