Trying to backup King of Queens, season 1, disk 1. I got task2 failed error=15. Using Maxell media with phillips sdvd8820 AX03 burner.

any ideas?

Looks like finalization failed.
Will this disc play in your pc with a software player like VLC, Powerdvd, WMP ?

Put the failed disc in your burner and try this:

DVDFab Finalize a disc
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right click on the Fab Icon >
Left click Properties >
Left click Find Target >
Left click PcSetup.exe >
Left click on the + in front of Patin-Couffin driver >
Now left click once to select your burner >
Right click on the selected burner >
Navigate to the bottom of the dropdown to Finalize the media

Please help! I'm using TDK DVD-R 8x. I've always used the same brand and since 5.0.3.0 I've been having burning issues, including 5.0.5.0.

What can I do to fix this?

Assuming your using the default settings, a guess from me would be... please change from Packet writing to SAO writing in Common Settings.

Please post a burn log...the devil's in the details...

The default location is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator Name\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

Yes the one on the desktop. Right click the Icon, click on properties then find target, ect., ect.

i changed all my settings to the link from troy. still having the same 115 error. why is this happening? i never had problems til the 5.0.3.0. update.

I posted a request/instructions on posting a burn log on the thread you started. This will give us some very useful info.

It's best to confine a specific problem to one thread...otherwise it becomes fragmented and frustrating for anyone trying to help or follow the thread.

I hate to say this and please don't shoot the messenger or take it personally, but Matshita drives are crap. With the update to Fab and VSO, something in your write strategy has changed. Firmware for this drive is a joke and probably non-existent.
A few of us have tried to look and have tried to troubleshoot these drives, but honestly, I think it's simply a matter of luck.

If you have some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media, I'd give those a shot.

Do you have Img installed? It's free and is the best or at least one of the best burn engines available, bar none.

better try imgburn set your burn speed in dvdfab to 6x

the auto write speed feature of imgburn, for some reason is not compatible with dvdfab anymore?? ive been working on it though.

Must be a lappy.........yeah crap drive (sorry!) and media is not good either. I would burn them at 4x or 8x - in that order. Don't use 6x :\
