Subtitle Problem Copying 'Same Time Next Year' OK, I don't get it. I've now tried twice. I tried using - generic.mp4.h264.aac; and - apple tv copying options and BOTH times I get subtitles coming off the disk. And I'm trying for high quality copies so I'm doing double pass and its taken 2 hours each and each time I get subtitles in the resulting movie. I can't find anything in the configuration options to turn subtitles on or off. These are very strange subtitles. They actually aren't on the bottom of the screen like most movies I've seen. Rather the subtitles appear under the person who is talking - almost like bubbles in cartoons but under the person and without bubbles. Does anyone know how to turn OFF the subtitles like this so that I just get a clean Mpeg 4/h.264 video? Thanks. P.S. I tried clicking on the "subtitle" tag on the bottom of the forum, but that generated an error message for the site. It seems something is busted on the forum.

Re: Subtitle Problem Copying 'Same Time Next Year' Hi Dajad Whenever you have problems like this with DVD to Mobile, do your tests using Advanced Title Settings and select only one or two chapters. It will go much faster and in most cases the results will be the same. To eliminate subtitles, you have to UNcheck all the boxes in the Subpicture area on the first DVD to Mobile screen (before you click Next). If you have done this and are still getting subtitles in the output video, it may be a bug if it happens on everything you try to convert. I haven't tried any yet with 4.0.6.0. You can also try selecting the sub/idx file option for subtitles on the Configure page, then just discard the sub/idx files. This might prevent the subtitles from appearing in the video.

Re: Subtitle Problem Copying 'Same Time Next Year' Thanks so much signals. I had NOT unchecked the subpicture box. Why? Who the hell knows. I remember seeing "English" there and thinking it is asking me what language do I want the audio to be. Any chance that box could be relabled "subtitles" in a future release? If it had been I'm sure I wouldn't have made that mistake. But, on my 2 track test (another good idea) I tested it and the subtitles are gone. So, my machine is chugging away at the full disk again and it looks like it will take about 3 hours. Thanks so much.

Re: Subtitle Problem Copying 'Same Time Next Year' You're welcome and I'm glad it's working now. I have found with H.264 that the quality is fine without the 2-pass conversion option and its time penalty, but this is subjective.
