Hello

I have ripped one DVD9 to my HDD (I own the original). Now as I tried to split it, DVDFab (Platinum 4.0.5.5) does not do anything. There is nothing in the panels...just empty. I have used this program quite a while to back up by splitting a DVD9 to DVD5 but this has never happened. he DVD folder is recognized and also the Disc, but I can not split and hitting the START button does not work.
Please find a screen shot attached.



I have run FixVTS, to remove any error if present, but this also did not solve the problem.

Could some one help me please?

Bump.....

id suspect you have the blank media size selection set to dvd5. so even though you ripped to hard drive first the disc was compressed to fit a single layer dvd. now you want to use split, however split is for dvd9.

But I do not think that is the case. Though I am not even near an advanced user in this back up etc, but the HDD folder is about 7.9 GB in size. Which I hope obviously means that it was riped for a DL DVD! Isn't it?

yes it is a DL rip. could you do a split from the original disc instead of from a rip? your attached screen shot image is missing the source. are you certain the correct source is selected? please try v4062.

Ok, I have updated DVDFab, but it did not solve the problem.

Using the original disc gives the same problem. And I am certain that correct source is selected.

Here is the update

The DVD9 was episodic DVD and DVDFab could not decide on the split point, and hence the trouble.

I had to use VobBlanker to manually split the DVD.
