Size of DVDFab platinum file - Club CDFreaks

When I downloaded the exe. file it said the size of the file was 6.76MB.

Checking in the C:/Program Files/DVDFab 5 it show the size of 18.0MB.

Is this correct? or should it only be 6.76MB.

I was just wondering if maybe mine is stacking one on top of the other for the total of 18.0MB I have just left the original one in place and then installed the next update right over the top of the first and second one. For a total of 3 versions now.

The file you download and install from is compressed. The uncompressed files are then placed in your DVDFab 5 folder. I have the same file size of the DVDFab 5 folder as you have.

The DVDFab5 folder is about 18MB. The installer (6MB) contains compressed files that are unpacked. The DVDFab executable I think is about 2-3MB.

C:/Program Files/DVDFab 5 Should read 18.8MB, The installer package is a compressed file which gets un-packed during the install ...your findings are normal

Thanks Gummigutta, signals and Storm Jumper for your help.

I thought something must have went south, I even uninstalled and reinstalled twice more before writing the first comment. The size remained the same.

StormJumper, do you think that because I did uninstall and reinstall twice that I should do a clean uninstall and then reinstall again. Or do you think that it will be o.k. the way that it is.

I didn't have any problems with it that I knew of. I hadn't even used the 5.0 version for anything yet.

The only thing that I did do was update the version 3 times when the new one came out.

I got every version in the 5.0 series except 5.0.1.0. I seen it at work and by the time I got home it had changed to 5.0.1.2.

happened to the other .07 - 1.5MB making the folder be 18.0 - 18.5MB.

Some of the .dll files may have already been installed?

I think everyone is right. Windows Explorer shows 17.3, but if you right-click the folder and look at properties, it is 18.8. How's dem apples?

If I right click mine says 18.3. If I go to start/C:/add remove programs is says 18.37.

Very strange indeed when right clicking on the folder and looking at
properties it does indeed show 18.7MB

The only time that a clean uninstall is really necessary is if and when you are having issues that can't be fixed by other means
