hello, I am trying to watch a dvd in the US. looking for help finding the code to release my HP lap top, Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device , free from the burdon of regional code.
i hate that we are so controled coded)))

You posted this in the wrong section of the forum. It should be in the cd dvd burner section to get proper help as we are not allowed to mention third party software. This is the dvd fab section of the forum. someone please move this thread so cdius can get the help he needs

try http://www.rcp1.org and search for you manufactuer and model of dvd drive.
if not try google.

with +rcp1 +firmware in the search window.

patch to region free dvd drive (rcp1). (name of firmware type is rcp1 and needs to match dvd drive manufature and model.)

a dvd decrpter eg dvdidle pro, or slysoft anydvd HD or slysoft anydvd or dvd ghost (but it also does not work on some dvds) (but does not work on most dvds last updated 2006. )is needed otherwise to region free dvd drive.
(drive region free on the decrypter for simulating matched region code as dvd is needed for copying and playing).

DVDFab will read discs from any region in a drive coded for any region. It will not play them in realtime, however, and will not convert PAL->NTSC. As GJ said, this really should be in another sub-forum. You can get a region-free standalone player that also does the PAL->NTSC conversion for about US$50. If you watch a lot of these, that's the way to go.

If you only want to play the video on your PC, couldn't you use DVDFab's decrypter to copy the files to your hard drive, then (if you want to free up the space) burn those files onto a DVD (not master a video DVD, copy them as data files) and play them using something that can play a directory of unencrypted VOBs (PCs don't seem to care about PAL vs. NTSC and will remap the colorspace accordingly)? Worst case, the XBox 360 converter will make you a WMV file that will play just fine, I've got a Danish miniseries I play that way. Making a DVD that will work on a standard player is a much more complex task, of course.

the drive is retail i checked on amazon and i buyed from a retail shop on amazon called Digital Kingdom.

I want to be able to region free drive to be able to use dvd player to find it rcp1 if rpc2 drive players can play rpc1 drives with dvds. and be able to copy with out region restriction on dvd copying. and the drive is not mine but i brought it for my uncle as a late christmas present. My uncle would prefer to use AnyDVD. i hope to get 1Click Pro this year for him. and AnyDVD next year. as AnyDVD 6.xx.xx.xx.xx had HD not from the first AnyDVD release.

i concider dvdidle pro and dvdfab a dirffernt product. Regoin and Css free is a dvd decypter ripper software which can simulate matching drive region as the dvd on some dvds and some dvd drives.

DVDFab is a dvd burner software which requires mathing dvd and dvd drive to burn.

my cousins are licenced with 2 licences of DVDIDLE Pro 5.9.8.5 (1 licence of each of my cousins). when if any updates become avilable then they could use power2go or nero or other dvd buring software but not CloneDVD or AnyDVD ripper.

My Cousins do not have a dvd burner but a DVD-ROM drive.
