| Ready (Quality is %?) and skipping Hi, I have just started using the trial version of DVDFAB Platinum. What does the following refer to? On the DVDFAB Express window - what does the phase "READY (Quality is some percentage)". What does this refer to? the movie or the bland DVD. I made backups of a couple of movies and the % was 46 and when I clicked on "main movie" option the % goes up - to 77% please explain what this means, if anything. Also, I have had to redo a couple of backups because there was skipping and freezing up at the 66-67 minute of the movie. I was using blank HP DVD-R, up to 8x burn. THe second copy was made on a HP lightscribe DVD-R disk without any problem. The movies were Pink Panther and Munich. Any thoughts on this with just this minute bite of information about the skipping without supplying additional hardware or burn history. I have since change the burn speed to 4X rather than automatic. I have been using DVD Shrink and DVD4free but look forward to what DVDFAB can offer. Thanks, Daryl D. |

| Re: Ready (Quality is %?) and skipping Hi Rokdigger246 and welcome. The Ready (Quality:**%) refers to the amount of compression applied by express, ie., !00% = no compression (4200B to 4200MB), 50% would be compressed to 1/2 the original file size (8400MB to 4200MB). Take, for eg., "Terminator 2" ) Complete Disc = 52&, or almost half Main Movie = 63%, by virtue of eliminating some extra features. This % is an approximation and when deleting unwanted audio streams and subtitles can be reduced further, but you don't see the change until after burning the bkup. Without specifics (MID, burner, etc.), which we'll need to help you...my first guess on the freezing, ?pixelation issues: The two most frequent causes are bad media (includes compatiblity problems -burner +/or player) and inappropriate burn speeds, usually too fast. I'd look to your media first. I have no idea who makes hp media. Hope this helps.
