I'm using the VOB rip method in
DVDFab Platinum 4.0.5.0 to create files playable on the PS3. I use VOB method as they rip much faster then re-encoding to a H.264 format. After the rip is done, I rename the VOB files with an MPG extension and then I use Media Player version 11 to stream them to a PS3. Everything works fine if the DVD title results in a vob (MPG) file less then 2 GB in size. If the DVD title spans more then 1 vob file (> 2GB in size), the second file shows video on the PS3 fine - but the audio is not present - at least according to the PS3. (The PS3 says there is no audio). I use 2 GB max file size - as I think this is the largest file size Media Player will support for streaming. However, the audio is present in all the VOB files - as they play correctly on any PC. I don't think this is a media player problem - as I get the same results if I use a flash disk to present the MPG file to the PS3 directly.
Any suggestion to fix this problem or a better way to stream content to a PS3 without recoding the video cwould be most helpful. Thanks!
