Problems with "Descent" Hello all! I have been trying to back up the movie "Descent" and I am having a problem that I have not run into before...... I am using SPLIT mode on FabPlatinum 3.0.5 (latest version) I have done two different copies. The first time I set it to burn directly to disc after copying, and the second time I set it to copy to a folder on my hard drive. First time the burn proccess said "completed successfully" BUT the disc was unreadable in my player or on my computer????? Second time the "copy proccess completed successfully" according to the program, and the files looked okay in the folder...... BUT I could not view the contents of the folder either???? PLEASE somebody help! Thanks!! P.S. and I might be stupid, but I can't seem to find the option for ISO

Re: Problems with "Descent" At first the direct copy to disc for DVD is not adviseable second try to open the folder in your hard drive with one of the dvd player programs (e.g. Nero PowerDVD, Real Player or WMP) to see if you can play it also highlight the movie folder from your HD right click and click on property and see the file size if is 3-6 GB then it should be OK.

Re: Problems with "Descent" Thanks for your reply! First, I deleted all previous back ups of that movie and did a fresh copy. I am able to now view the folders from my HD using Nero ![]() Second, How can I view a folder using PowerDVD??? I don't see an option to play from a folder (only from an inserted disc)...... Third, do you reccomend that I always copy to a folder and then burn as a second step? If so, should I burn using Nero or Fab? And what steps exactly should I take to burn? I can't seem to burn using Nero burning ROM with the file types that Fab creates (VOB)...need ISO right? So how do I get ISO files instead? I have the 3.0.5.0 version of Fab, but can't find that option. Or, could I burn with Nero Express? Or could I burn with Fab? Any help is very appreciatted!

| Re: Problems with "Descent" You should have Disc1 and Disc2 in a folder that Fab created. I think the name of the main folder is DVDFAB with sub folders Complete disc, Split disc, Main Movie, Custom, and clone. Mack

Re: Problems with "Descent" I am also having a problem with this. I used DVDFab Express to copy the DVD to my hard drive. The files are there and I can view the movie with Power DVD also when I use DVD Shrink 3.2 to burn the disc the movie is visible in the preview window. But the final disc is not readable by my DVD player and my computer locks up the program when I try . Also I tried to convert the file to AVI for download to my Zen with #1 DVD Ripper this program also locks up trying to open the folder or the disc. I have had problems before but up until now was able to get the job done.
