@tazz

Just a heads-up. You might want to check the forum rules regarding prohibited discussions. Your post is awfully close to the line.

The purpose of the forum is to discuss issues in making backups of legally purchased DVDs only.

A little care in composing posts helps to keep everyone safe and happy.

Re: problem with shoot em up

Hey everyone. I dont have any issues burning or ripping Shoot Em Up but when I go back and try to play the dvd back, it freezes at the dvd menu when I try to click play. Anyone else have this problem? I was using DvdFab Platium Beta 4.065. What setting do I need or is the Gold work better? Also notice issues with skips in dvds I copy from original dvd. I also use burning speed of 4x so that should be the problem. What is going on with this?

The problem can be a few things like Poor Quality Media being used and or burnning to fast

EDIT....Can also be a program running in the background at the same time you are doing the backup

Hi Curt99 and welcome to cdfreaks,

As SJ said, this can be one or more of a multitude of factors...that being said, the lead suspect in our gang of "usual suspects" is poor quality media.

Please post a few burn logs. This will give us quite a bit of info we need and we'll go from there.

Re: problem with shoot em up

Yea maybe that is it but cant be burn speed. Am burning at 4x. And thing is some dvds have no problems but other new dvds will not work correctly, they burn fine rip fine. Plays the preview movies but once I get to dvd menu and try to play, some will lock up at that point, specially this movie. Suppose could be brand I use, just standard Office Depot 16x DVD+R but really this should not matter. Copied many before, its just those few that have problems when they have special copy protection am guessing. Any sugguestion, any dvd copy program that works better? I never had luck with dvd shrink or dvd decrypter for these either.

Re: problem with shoot em up

Think I got it resolved now. Instead of choosing full disc, I choose customize but do select all items and then have no freezups. Perhaps some non dvd files were causing the problem when at the dvd menu, I dont know.
