using dvd fab can you copy a movie dvd to dvd (movie only) and save the temp as a iso to you hard drive instead of a vts file?

No, not directly. You can rip it as an .ISO to the hdd and then burn to a dvd, but to my knowledge, you have to do the 2-step process.
(I think this is what t0nee1 meant).

If you use Clone mode you can do it, but not main movie only.
