Hello Raul
Welcome to the forum
There is no difference between the trial version and the full version.
These are the best settings to use for most members
Write Speed....4x or 8x
Write Type of DVD-R Media....SAO Writing
DVD Writable Media (DVD-5) Size....4464 (use customize in drop down )
Set Booktype to DVD-ROM....(put a check in the small box)

Also what error are you getting is it during reading the disc or the burn process

The issue or problem that you are having (little squares across the screen) I think may be with the DVD Player and not the DVDFab Platinum software since this is not a normal issue the others have had with the product.
I would try cleaning the Lens in the DVD Player and if the problem still happening then you may want to buy another DVD Player, if you do buy another DVD Player hook it up play the disc that is giving you this issue and if it happens on the new DVD Player you can always return it and you are out of no money

Try Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media. What is your location? USA,EU, etc.....?

first click 'default' in common settings and restart dvdfab, see if the disc is scratched then try a 'full disc' backup, since you say that the free version works. i like to use customize but have had trouble with customize on older scratched discs.

i have noticed little squares across the screen during dark scenes of movies, i get these on backups with lower quality percentage. as for the 'format unsupported' i have no idea.

maybe you should try rolling56's suggestions also try lowering the burn speed slightly.

Re: ok so i purchased the dvd platinum

Troy if you are having this issue too you can try running the VOB's through FixVTS before you burn the DVD files make sure you select Full Disc it may get rid of your issue
If you don't have it you can download it from HERE
