Newbie question on registration, blank media

Hey everyone, I just have a few questions about DVDFab.

If I purchase this program will I be able to load the program onto my desktop and my laptop with the one registration key or is it only good for use on one machine?

I have been copying onto DYNEX dvd-r media and I have been experiencing skipping not only on my dvd copys, but also when I try to burn shows that i've downloaded with nero. This leads me to believe it is the media I am using and not just my computer or my software, anyone else had this type of problem?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Newbie question on registration, blank media

Hi polishp86 and welcome to CDF's Fab forum. First of all, anybody on this forum will advise you to switch your brand of media to Verbatim. The MCC-OO4 16X +R . If they aren't the best, then they are the second best behind Ty Yuden's. The Ty's are more expensive. I personelly use the Verb,'s. As far as your first question goes, I believe it's one key to a machine. Somebody else may be able to give you a better informed answer to this. But as far as I know, that's the policy ok. Good Luck and Happy Burning! ~ Mike

Re: Newbie question on registration, blank media

DVD Fab offers two choices;

1. Single-User License:
A Single-User License permits the purchaser to install the software on a single computer for use by a single user.

2. Multi-User License: Volume discount! ( 10% - 90% )
A Multi-User License provides an inexpensive way for home, businesses, schools, universities or other work groups to supply their personnel with our software in a cost efficient manner

I had a similar problem and changing media did fix it. I agree with the recommendation above. I prefer Taiyo Youden but find Verbatim to be just as good. Apparently media from Taiwan is more reliable than media from other places; but, I wouldn't put my house on that. There are plenty of reviews on the 'net. Also 'DVD Identifier' is a handy utility for finding the actual manufacturer.

Re: Newbie question on registration, blank media

So what are the best kinds of ty yudens to purchase? I was looking on Ebay just now and there are white tops, silver tops, value lines, thermal lacquers, and all other different types. How do I know that these are authentic Ty's and not just some rip offs? Also, where could I find the verbatim MCC-OO4 type of DVD's? What are some good places to get good deals on these brands of dvds? Does anyone have an idea how I could manage to get a license for 2 or 3 computers?

Thanks guys!
