also got thid off the internet help (You've encountered error message C00D119A while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue.
Cannot play the file
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. You might encounter this error message for one of the following reasons:
A required codec is not installed on your computer. A codec is software that the Player uses to decompress a file before playing it.
Typically, the Player automatically downloads and installs required codecs as needed. However, the Player was unable to download and install the required codec for this file, most likely because a codec is not available for the content that you want to play, or because the Internet security settings for your browser are set too high and do not allow you to download the codec.
Try adjusting your Internet security settings to allow codecs to be downloaded to your computer.
The file that you are trying to play might not be supported by Windows Media Player. For a list of file types (formats) that are supported by Windows Media Player, see Supported file types.)

thats all I can find out I do not know what to do I keep trying different things but same results either i get ony audio or i get a error message

thanks

Nobody is answering your posts because you have not given us any imformation to help you. Posting 4 times is not going to get you a better response. Please give us detailed information of what Fab product you are using, what kind of Hard drive (USB) you are using as your destination and your computer specs would help also. We have a dedicated forum here for DVDFAB products. You will find it here.

Re: New to dvdfab PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

You really want to say you are trying to rip a DVD Video into your hard drive, so for that use DVD Shrink to rip the DVD Video to your hard drive that rip and encode even shrink if needed then use programs like Nero Burning ROM or ImageBurn to burn from H/D to DVD disc .

Re: New to dvdfab PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

DVDShrink will not be able to decrypt and copy many new movies. The copy protection schemes have changed and DVDShrink has not been updated in several years. Yes, it is free and yes at one time it was the best, but that is no longer true.

Think he got confused from TCAS's post #10 about using Shrink when he does have DVDFAB and that was what his orignal question was about

Re: New to dvdfab PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Also in referance to your #1 post you will need a DVD playing program like VLC Media Player (free) or Power DVD or any others WMP is just not a good DVD player

Re: New to dvdfab PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

If you look, into original poster and his post #2, he is very new to DVD burning and copying, that is why he is asking for simplest way to rip movie to his hard drive and then play it from his H/D for viewing that is the main concern he has. The complicated issue of movie protection and how to remove it is kind of early for him and he is not concern with that at this time. At least this is my understanding form his post.

Edit:martinator if you are taking about buying DVD Shrink as other members indicated DVD Shrink is free and you can download and install itf or free.

Re: New to dvdfab PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I also bought a gateway with vista, the ONLY way I could get the thing to "work" properly was to remove mcafee protection. All of a sudden all programs from my old computer worked, and a lot of newer stuff. Be sure to put on a different protection.

What is obvious from reading his post #2 is that he already has DVDFab. He is trying to put a movie on his HDD that might be a Sony release, at which point the complicated issue of movie protections becomes very important if he is trying to use DVDShrink.
