My newly burned DVD's won't work properly I downloaded Fab Express the free version and copied some of my DVD's I had at home well they worked fine, I have purchased Fab Express and since then it won't play my newly burned DVD's. I have tried Star Wars III, Madagascar, Polar Express, War of the Worlds and tried to play them in three different DVD players and same thing happens which is that the movie freezes and shuts off or the frame will freeze and the languages will change to spanish - french - english. I have the new update to 2.9.6.0 and still I am having problems. None of the DVD's that I have burned are working properly. Can any one help please????Any suggestions??? Thank You

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly are these "complete disc" rip/burns? Reason I ask, I usually do "main movie only" with Express, and really never an issue, play perfectly anywhere, chapter skips okay, ect. However I tried to backup one of my older dvd's, The Hindenberg. Because Express stated 97% quality, I did complete disc - and it failed to play properly - hung on chapter one, and then jumped to end of movie! Ty -R media which has been perfect...2.9.5.5 version, but this dvd released quite awhile ago, so......seems like more issues with complete disc rip/burns than just main movie rip/burns?? Two of the flicks you mention SW3, and Pexpress - no problems with main movie copy - watched them all the way thru, and using the chapter skip on dvd remote, no problems.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Thank You Larry3030cd I will try to copy just the main move. I am just surprised that I have been having problems with Fab Express since I bought it, before I have burned complete movies and never encountered any problems like this before. Thank you for your time Larry.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Good advice from larry...as always. I've also noted some glitches where normally, there shouldn't be any. A few users have had issues with "Polar Express" when attempting "complete disc", whereas "main movie" ripped and burned just fine. Take a look at the thread, "Polar Express" on this forum. I haven't Bkup'd madagascar but "sw" and "wwow" are fairly large files and compression will probably approach 50-55% on complete disc, and depending on the degree of compression on the original disc itself, this is significant re: playback quality. I don't know what blank media you're using, but a change here could benefit you as well. Hope this helps.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Thank you Maineman, I have been using Memorex DVD+R 4.7GB the whole time before the bought version and now. I don't now if the problem is whith these new movies coming out but it seemed like I didn't have ANY problems before purchasing Fab Express afterwards when I purchased it I have been having constant problems and haven't been able to copy at least one DVD without encountering any problems with playback. Just VERY frustrated!!! Thank you Maineman for your time and reply.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly A lot of us have used memorex at one time or another, but have moved on. They're cheap and easy...Staples, etc. Unfortunately, memorex has multiple manufacturers and are inconsistent re: any real quality control. You may have had good luck, but you will also have bad luck at some point. I would recommend staying with quality media: Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden and Ritek are quality brands...cheap and easy on the internet as well. If you need a few links, just holler. Since you purchased the software, it's bombed?...don't blame you for being frustrated. I think it would be wise to burn to RWs until you get back to burning reliably. It'll eliminate the coaster issue and probably much of your frustration. Maybe try a couple of movies that you've burned previously and successfully. Poor quality media and too fast burn speeds are two of the most frequent causes of burn errors.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly I have a similar problem. I have just installed DVDIdle Pro and DVDFab Platinum, and burned "SKY High" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on DVD +RW on Sony media and HP media, respectively. With the former in the home theater DVD player, after it gets to the menu and I choose to play movie, it insists on starting somewhere in the middle. When I try to go back to the beginning, it starts at the same wrong place, over and over. I went to the scene selection and it does one of two things: either starts playing at the wrong place again or it freezes the DVD player (I have to turn it off)! With Mr. & Mrs. Smith, it simply stops when I go to play movie. Incidentally, one of these was recorded on a 64-bit computer; the other on a 32. I haven't tried just burning the main movie yet (will try that next), but this is still unacceptable. Any help would be greatly appreciated. One other question, please: I remember prior to buying, the ad said you could delete or disable the FBI warning. How do you do this? Thanks a bunch!

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Hi m0tm0t you described it excatly is to what happens to my newly burned DVD's, the other thing that happens to mine is the movie pause but it still shows the frame in English,Spanish and French. I have had great help from maineman and Larry3030 and they game me some suggestions. I have looked in other forums under my DVD burner manufacturer and found Booktype Management version 8.4. I also went to Dell(that's where I purchased my computer)and updated my DVD burner for double layer burning. Between the Booktype and my update I have tried and burned Star Wars III and Madagascar I played it back and it works well. Those were the two things I have changed and it seems to work well now. I hope that this might help you. Regarding your question about disabling FBI warning I don't know how to do that.Sorry ![]()

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Hi Polian--Thanks for the suggestions. I really appreciate it. My Dell computer is supposed to already be dual-layer capable. I can burn successfully and have been doing so using a combination of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. When I got Idle Pro for Region Free, I read about DVD Fab--it sounded so much simpler, quicker and with helpful options, so I got it, too. I don't know why it is having these problems when the others do fine. I'll keep checking to see if there are any other suggestions, but thanks again!

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly What would you think of back-ups that run fine on the computer but have a fairly rythmic hiccup in my player. They don't really lose any data it just pauses for a split second. My media is Ritek 8x +r but I have been letting the dvdfab gold program pick the speed maybe slowing it will solve this? Or is it my home player not liking burned disks or the type disks?

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Hi rspar I know that slowing the burning speed helped me, but I also know that my Memorex DVD's are no good either.I have three DVD players at home and I could watch some newly burned DVD's on one player but not the other DVD player so I guess it depends.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly rspar, might be an issue with the +R's. Ritek is generally reliable, but your player depending how old may not be able to completely handle. Try what polian said about the booktype setting, prior to burn, and set to "dvd-rom". My Panny does play SL +R burns fine, but a +DL burn, I have to set the booktype setting first for it to handle - strange, but works.

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly rspar, The playback issues you're experiencing can be from a variety of things. Definitely look in to the booktype issue, mentioned by larry. Also, as polian discovered, poor quality media or incompatible media (this means intermittent problems as well) and too fast burn speeds are lead suspects re: the problems you're having. Recommend no faster than 4X and you may want to burn to an rw until you're finished experimenting and this is resolved. If you need more help, we'll be glad to help you out but we'll need some specifics from you. Hope this helps, Tom

Re: My newly burned DVD's won't work properly Update I eventually started shrinking my dvd's below 3g and they still looked pretty good and didn't skip. Then my dvd writer went out and I bought a pioneer 111d and flashed it now all problems are gone and it burns a good dvd to 4g at 16x even on so-so media.
