Media inserted in Drive D is single layer

Today I converted to avi files that I downloaded from the internet in convertstodvd. Then when I am selecting the TS-video file to burn it onto a dvd in DVDFab it is telling me: Media inserted in Drive D is single layer. Please insert a double layer media to start the write process.

I downloaded and converted files like this many times, so why this is happening?

Thanks in advance

Re: Media inserted in Drive D is single layer

Let's see if I have this right! you have an avi file that you converted to DVD with ConvertXtoDVD right? And now you are trying to burn with DVdFab? Are you using DVDFab HD Decrypter to backup?, because the free one only backs up to DL ...you need DVDFab HD> Shrink to fit SL disc.....
But after using FAB,you should have been able to do it all with ConvertXtoDVD ...not sure as I don't use it..........I use DVDFab Platinum these days....

Re: Media inserted in Drive D is single layer

After that I converted the AVI file in Convertxtodvd now I got Audio_TS and Video_TS files, right? Then I open DVDFab Platinum and open the Video_TS file, I select Write Data on the left and click start to burn it on DVD.

Write Data mode does not provide compression. The message is telling you that the file will only fit on a DL DVD9. Run it through using Main Movie to compress it to DVD5 size or burn it to a DL. If I understand this.

I already selected DVD-5 (4400mb) in Convertxtodvd and the dvds always fit on a 4.7gb media. This problem is happening now!

Problem starts with the first sentence.

1. You never know what you really download........
2. It is difficult to actually say if this even apply to the forum rules or not.

Some download moves that are available for purchase have protections to restrict burning to DVD. Your best source for an answer is to PM fengtao with the source and details. I do remember that Fab does support at least 1 source of purchased downloaded movies. I know that my wife purchased several songs and was able to put them on her IPod as long as she paid a monthly fee for a special program, when she canceled the subscription after she had her IPod full, she was unable to put them back on her IPod after a crash. She can still play them on her computer with the free version of the program, but was told that she would have to pay another fee to place them back on her IPod. Most of us here do not use the downloaded movies, so we do not know what the place that supplies them uses to restrict burning. That is the reason fengtao is the best person to ask.
